Andreja Mladenović of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) was chosen deputy mayor.

Mali was appointed chairman of the Belgrade interim body in November 2013.

The top priority for the new Belgrade government will be the consolidation of the city finance involving aggressive savings measures and investment and employment incentives, Mali said on Thursday as he presented his program ahead of the vote.

He said that other city government priorities would comprise increase of efficiency in the city administration and implementation of a responsible social policy, and that efforts need to be invested in order to encourage investments and employment increase.

Mali said that in the five months since he became the chair of the Belgrade Interim Body, the Body managed to stabilize the city finance and prepare the basis for the new policy, but he also underscored that Belgrade's total dues added up to EUR 1.18 billion at the end of 2013.

He said that the city would focus on financial consolidation in public enterprises and an increase of public transport efficiency.

Listing the important projects in the city, Mali mentioned the City on Water project, new bus and railway stations, new line of the Belgrade train, construction of four underground garages, regulation of the Vinca landfill and the issue of the Belgrade metro construction.

He noted that capital projects would be conducted in a transparent and efficient way and through public and private partnership instead of taking out additional loans.

He announced the reconstruction and opening of the National Theater, noting that the city would invest in culture because he believes that Belgrade's spirit of culture is the city's biggest value.
