BELGRADE Ivica Dacic says he will insist in Brussels on August 27 that Pristina and the EU guarantee that "the Kosovo logo" will not appear on the ballot papers. This concerns the local elections in the province set for November 3. PM reiterates opposition to Kosovo symbol on ballots He also once again warned that the Serbs will not take part in the election unless it is "status neutral." Dacic told the Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti that he will clearly impress this message on Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton at a joint meeting on Tuesday. Dacic confirmed that if the ballots include the logo of the so-called state of Kosovo, the Serbian government will "most likely" invite the Serbs to stay away from the polls. Dacic informed ambassadors of the Quint countries - the United States Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom - in Belgrade on Thursday that Pristina's insistence on emblazoning the ballot paper with the logo of the self-proclaimed independent Kosovo violates the status neutrality of the Brussels agreement. Serbia will not accept that, since attempts at such trickery bring into question the Serbs' participation in the polls, Dacic said. The prime minister warned that such intentions of Pristina authorities are directed against the Brussels deal, and voiced expectation that the EU would take serious measures to preserve the status neutrality of the Brussels agreement, the government press office said in a release.
