Serbia’s Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says that Germany still does not know what its position on Serbia’s EU candidate status would be. “When it comes to Serbia and the Western Balkans’ European future, I can say that Germany still has not decided on its position at the next EU foreign ministers’ meeting,” he said after a meeting with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle in Munich. Germany still without stance on Serbia, FM says “However, no matter what the decision might be, it is important to maintain stability in relations. It is important to keep a high level of communication and commitment,” the Serbian minister stressed, adding that it was important to continue the dialogue. “I think that all sides have the best possible will but only time will show what the decision will be,” he explained. Jeremic repeated that the next EU foreign ministers’ meeting would be held on February 28. “Minister Westerwelle and I will have an intensive communication, just like with other foreign ministers. I think that everybody has the best will to reach the best possible solution. We are far from being able to say what the decision will be like at the moment,” he stressed. The foreign minister added that he and Westerwelle had discussed the two countries’ bilateral relations and current situation in the world, especially in the Middle East. Jeremic had a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of Azerbaijan, Russia, U.S., Israel, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Turkey, Sweden and Romania at the Munich Security Conference.
