The general impression is that in regard to corruption in the society, Serbia has made progress in two areas since the beginning of the year. This is according to Transparency Serbia Executive Director Nemanja Nenadic, who said that the trend of a growing number of detected corruption crimes has been maintained along with progress in establishing institutions and adoption of laws. TI on corruption level in Serbia He underscored that the trend was present in the previous years, underlining that the general situation in Serbia was still "very bad and unsatisfactory", particularly in regard to the practical implementation of anti-corruption laws. “I believe that corruption is rather equally distributed among various segments of the society - justice, health, education, etc. Generally speaking, there is more corruption where there is more money and where there are more discretion rights,” underscored Nenadic. “One of Serbia's basic problems lies in the political sphere, that is in the fact that political reasons continue to play a stronger role than legal ones in the law making and implementation,” said Nenadic.
