Reforms and European integrations are contributing to a better business environment in Serbia which should attract foreign investments, says PM Mirko Cvetković.

Reforms and European integrations are contributing to a better business environment in Serbia which should attract foreign investments, says PM Mirko Cvetkovic. He believes that Serbia can offer the most competitive conditions for production investments and creation of new jobs in the Southeastern European region. PM on improved business climate This year’s economic activity data show that consequences of the crisis are still visible in all countries of Central and Eastern Europe, he pointed out. Cvetkovic also said that Serbia would continue to carry out structural reforms. “We will continue to carry out structural reforms in order to enable a sustainable economic growth and increase the standard of living. In that sense we started reforms in the judiciary, state administration, education, pension and health insurance system but also in republic and local firms,” he explained. “Thanks to reform processes and European integrations Serbia is constantly improving its business environment with an aim to attract as many foreign investments as possible,” the PM said. President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin who attended the same meeting pointed out to the conveniences of investing in Serbia and stimuli which the government was giving to investors. “In order to encompass a favorable investment climate, Serbia is allocating significant funds to infrastructure which is supported by appropriate tax incentives and financial stimuli for investors,” he repeated. “Beside the existing advantages such as cheap and skilled labor, duty-free export, strategic geographical position and the lowest profit tax rate of ten percent, Serbia also offers help to potential investors,” Bugarin stressed. Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic said that he was, together with the Serbiam Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), negotiating with a total of 25 companies from the car manufacturing industry. He expressed his satisfaction that a program for the revival of large Serbian industrial centers had come to life in Nis with construction of Italian DITEC factory, and called upon all investors to invest in Zajecar, Nis, Kraljevo, Novi Pazar and other towns with high unemployment rates.
