Feith calls on K. Serbs to vote
5 November 2009 | 10:17 | Source: Beta
PRIŠTINA -- EU special representative in Kosovo Pieter Feith called on "citizens of Kosovo, especially Kosovo Serbs" to vote in local elections on November 15.

According to Beta news agency, Feith made the appeal “independently” from the calls of the Kosovo Serb community leaders who urged a boycott of the ballot.

During his visit to Central Election Commission, he said that international community expected the voting to be a "successful test for the future of Kosovo".

“We are encouraging all Kosovo citizens to vote, especially those in new municipalities with a Serb majority".

"Please, go out there and vote because it’s your democratic right,” said he.

Feith also stated that "all ID documents will be accepted" – those issued in Kosovo, "and Serbian IDs and passports held by Kosovo's Serbs".
