The final version of a draft law defining a transfer of jurisdiction, related to the draft Vojvodina statute, has not yet arrived in Novi Sad. This is according to a report in Belgrade daily Danas, which quotes the head of the DS-led For a European Vojvodina group in the Vojvodina assembly Dragoslav Petrovic. "Statute law not yet in Novi Sad" Petrovic denied that the draft law was sent to Novi Sad, despite government officials' claims that work on it was finished. He also said no invitation had arrived to the Vojvodina Executive Council that Justice Minister Snezana Malovic announced last week. He told the newspaper that the last meeting of the representatives of the provincial administration and the three-member working groups set up to draw up the draft law on jurisdiction was held approximately two months ago. Vojvodina's officials have since sent 15 suggestions, 13 of which have been accepted. Petrovic also rejected media speculation that the draft statute would be sent back to the provincial assembly, saying that there could "only be a legal and technical revision of the text". This official stated that there is "nothing contentious in the draft statute", and dubbed as "media speculation" reports that the contentious parts relate to provisions about the province's capital city, Vojvodina as a European region and right to conclude international contracts.
