SRS deputy president Gordana Pop-Lazic today accused Aleksandar Vucic of not being up to the situation that the party is in. Since the SRS split with Tomislav Nikolic, Vucic, the Serb Radicals (SRS) secretary general has not publicly discussed this issue, or taken sides. "The very gesture of not making any statements, speaks for itself, and there's no need for us to comment on it," she continued. "Personally, I think that he is obviously not up to the situation that the party and the state find themselves in. I have no idea which faction he will choose, and I have no interest in that either," Pop-Lazic concluded. Earlier, media in Belgrade reported Nikolic as saying that he will start forming a new party on Monday, with 18 lawmakers from the SRS ticket. Beside these MPs, Nikolic believes that Vucic will also join him in establishing the party. For now, Napred Srbijo (Forward Serbia) is only a parliamentary group that broke away from the rest of the SRS, and Nikolic, a former SRS deputy leader who resigned last week to that post and was subsequently expelled by the party, is hopeful that Vucic will follow suit and join him. "I spoke to Vucic several times since the Central Homeland Administration session. I believe that the course of that meeting definitely persuaded him that there was no place for him with those people, in that party," Nikolic told Belgrade's Vecernje Novosti newspaper. He also announced he will discuss the details of forming a new party with his followers. "We will put on paper the manifesto of the new party and will write its statute. By the end of this week, the whole registration business should be finished," Nikolic said, and confirmed that he had not yet decided on the name.
