UK Foreign Minister David Miliband says Downing Street won’t pressure Holland into voting for the Interim Agreement with Serbia. Milliband told Novi Sad daily Dnevnik that he did not wish to make any forecasts as concerns the outcome of the EU Council of Ministers on Monday, when one of the items on the agenda will be activation of the Interim Agreement with Serbia. Miliband: No pressure on Holland “I would refrain from forecasts and promises, as right now what’s important is not Holland’s opinion, but rather how dedicated and successful the Serbian authorities are in achieving full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal,” said the minister. Holland has thus far opposed activation of the Interim Agreement, conditioning it on the arrest of all the Hague fugitives. “Serbia has a place in the European family of nations, but that place doesn’t just depend on political, economic and cultural matters, but is closely interwoven with respect for European values, European conceptions of a legal state, and respect for human rights,” he underlined.
