Cedomir Jovanovic says that all other presidential candidates are more or less part of one large political party. “It is clear that all of my rival candidates are members of one party, one government, and that's the way it will be as long as they listen to one leader, Kostunica,” the Liberal Democratic Party leader and presidential candidate said. Jovanovic scathing of presidential rivals “Essentially, this government and all of its candidates are pulling us away from Europe, fostering monopolies, giving away public companies and creating an isolated country of the Middle Ages in the 21st century and in the middle of a modern Europe,” Jovanovic pointed out. He said that he was sure that Serbia and its citizens were better than their administration. “That is why I expect the citizens on January 20 to prove that they do not want to live as poor followers of a partisan state or a Russian protectorate, rather as a free people in a European Serbia,” Jovanovic said. Jovanovic said that the European Union would bypass Serbia if it did not accept the rules and regulations that were respected in Europe. “We have ambitions to change our country, not like those who only wish to rule the country,” he said at a rally in Sremska Mitrovica. “It is easy to lie to Serbia: America is to blame, Europe is to blame, Russia will help us…we have to take responsibility into our own hands,” Jovanovic said. He also criticized the short amount of time given for campaigning in the coming presidential elections, adding that it was a clear sign of the current policy of evading reality.
