Miroslav Lajcak says that the Republic of Srpska and Kosovo do not have anything directly in common. The international community's High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina said that coutnry is an internationally recognized state within its borders, adding that a Kosovo status solution would offer the greatest stability to the region. "Kosovo and Bosnia different cases" “We are, of course, a part of the same region, and everything that is happening there will affect the rest of the region,” Lajcak said. Speaking of the current situation in Bosnia, he told the Austrian APA agency that Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs in the country needed to agree on police reform issues sought by the European Union. “Bosnia is standing still while other countries in the region are moving towards Europe,” Lajcak said. He said that police reforms are needed in order to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU. Lajcak said that reforms are a technical question that have nothing to do with constitutional reforms. He said that if the reforms were not made by the time the EU submitted its September progress report on Bosnia, it would be considered another lost year in the effort to integrate into European structures.
