4,300 Zastava workers have accepted a government offer to terminate employment with Zastava Employment and Education (ZZO). Human Resources Coordinator at ZZO Radenko Djordjevic told Beta yesterday that of 4,412 registered ZZO workers, 100 had refused to sign the agreement, although he stressed that everyone had been given the chance to decide for themselves and access their right to stimulative severance payment. 4,300 workers apply for severance pay The deadline for signing the agreement was 9:45 p.m. Monday evening and all ZZO workers who queued were able to apply. The Serbian government initially offered workers stimulative severance pay of EU 200, which was accepted by 395 workers who had been declared surplus to demands in their factories. After protests and talks with the Zastava trade union, the government decided in August to make payments of EU 250 for each working year.
