Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated in Skopje on Saturday that the territory of Kosovo is the weakest link in the Balkans' security chain. At a joint news conference with his Macedonian colleague Gordana Jankuloska, Dacic advocated closer police cooperation in order to prevent criminal activities in the region. Kosovo weakest security link in Balkans When it comes to Kosovo, Dacic stressed that a better cooperation with the members of international forces and institutions is necessary in order to combat all types of crime. Dacic said that, according to operative information, the criminal groups from Kosovo engaged in narcotics, weapons and human smuggling are trying to make a profit in the EU states, and added that these groups cooperate with other criminal groups in Macedonia and Serbia - particularly in the parts where ethnic Albanians are a majority. Dacic and Jankuloska discussed the necessity of cooperation between the police forces of the entire region in the fight against terrorism. The two ministers also talked about cooperation in the fight against radical Islamic groups, and agreed that this area also requires joint cooperation.
