Former Republic of Srpska President Biljana Plavsic is due to be released from Hisenberg prison in Sweden on October 26. Biljana Plavsic is planning to return to Belgrade, reports Radio Free Europe. Wartime RS leader to return to Belgrade? She turned herself in to the Hague Tribunal on January 10, 2001. On April 7, 2000 she was charged with genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes against Bosniaks and Croats, and gross violations of the Geneva Convention in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1991 and 1992. She pleaded guilty to persecution of the non-Serb population in Bosnia-Herzegovina and crimes against humanity, for which she was convicted to 11 years in prison in February 2003.
