A psychiatric patient has killed a 17-year-old in his home in the village of Zdeglovo, near Lebane, in southern Serbia. The attacker, identified as Slobodan Ivkovic, entered the house at around 20:00 CET Sunday, first wounding the victim's mother with a knife, and then proceeding to his room. A while later in the yard, he attacked and seriously injured the victim's father. After that, Ivkovic went home where the police found him. The doctors are now fighting to save the lives of the parents, who have seven children. The victim's grandmother and two other children were also in the house at the time of the deadly incident. Until three weeks ago, Ivkovic was treated in a psychiatric hospital near Nis. He lived alone after his wife and daughter left him, and according to the locals, had been announcing that he would commit the murder for the past week. They even say that he notified the police an hour before the incident, but that the officers "did not take him seriously". MUP police directorate (PU) in Leskovac has not issued any statements regarding the case yet. An official statement is expected during the day.
