The Supreme Court has remanded Red Star bosses Dragan Dzajic, Vladimir Cvetkovic and Milos Marinkovic for 2 more months, on the advice of the investigative judge. The Court justified its decision to extend the custody period, explaining that if the suspects were released on bail, they might be able to lean on hitherto unquestioned witnesses. Red Star officials remanded in custody The investigation into the matter has yet to be completed, and the proceedings against Dzajic, Cvetkovic and Marinkovic are being conducted alongside a number of applications for the inquiry to be extended. The three suspects are accused of abuse of powers. They were arrested on February 5 on suspicion of embezzling over EUR 5mn during the transfer of Goran Drulic to Real Zaragoza. The investigation was subsequently extended to include the transfers of Zoran Njegus to Atletico Madrid and Nemanja Vidic to Spartak Moscow, while the prosecution is also calling for the transfer of Perica Ognjenovic to Real Madrid to be looked into.
