The local authorities in Subotica have already obtained the necessary materials, and work has begun on removing these hate-filled words from the wall. I hope that there will be no more of these isolated incidents, and that they will be stop in all our interests,” Jankovic said. The ombudsman said that it was completely logical for the Kujovic family to be afraid. “Serbia’s citizens have to become stronger, to establish full trust in the state and institutions that deal with these issues. Asked about the police’s response, Kujovic did not want to say exactly what he was unhappy about, stating only that he had had some trouble with the police, and that he did not wish to be put in a similar situation again. Subotica Municipal President Geza Kucera promised that the graffiti would be removed and that the expenses would be borne by the local authorities.
