A house belonging to a Kosovo Serb in Orahovac was destroyed in a fire yesterday, local media say. The house was empty at the time, since Dragan Simic, the owner, and his family, live as internally displaced persons in Serbia proper, after they were forced to leave Kosovo in the wake of the 1999 war there. Kosovo: Serb house set on fire Several days before it was set on fire, the house was broken into and robbed, KiM Radio reports. Kosovo's police, KPS, have blocked access to the scene and are investigating the surroundings. A KPS spokesman in Prizren told journalist that sporadic explosions were also heard from the flames, and then went on to offer his opinion that this is "most likely due to ammunitions left over from the war." Police believe that the fire is the work of arsonists, "but cannot with certainty claim whether they were Serbs or Albanians."
