Milorad Ulemek and Zvezdan Jovanovic have been sentenced to 40 years behind bars for the murder of Zoran Djindjic. Judge Nata Mesarovic today signed written confirmation of the sentences for the former commander and deputy commander of the Special Operations Unit, JSO, who were found guilty of the assassination of the late prime minister on March 12, 2003. Sentence official for Djindjic killers Aleksandar Simovic, Ninoslav Konstantinovic, Vladimir Milisavljevic and Sretko Kalinic were each sentenced to 35 years; Zeljko Tojaga, Branislav Bezarevic, Milos Simovic, Milan Jurisic i Dusan Krsmanovic to 30 years, while Sasa Pejakovic will spend 8 years in prison. The sentence took five and a half months to write and contains 446 pages, making it one of the longest sentences in Serbian legal history.
