Elixir Group starts producing previously imported compound

So far, this product was imported to Serbia, as no domestic factory produced it.

Elixir Group revitalized two plants in Prahovo and using existing equipment and domestic raw materials - calcium carbonate and phosphoric acid - developed a product of very high quality, fully competitive with existing products that were previously imported.

The company plans to produce more than 30,000 tons of monocalcium phosphate next year. This quantity can fully satisfy the domestic market, which could save roughly EUR 10 million now earmarked for imports, and the product will be cheaper in the domestic market.

Elixir Group also plans to produce a certain amount for export, as there is no production of the compound in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, or Romania. The product is currently imported from Russia, Lithuania, Tunisia.

Elixir group as a regional leader in the production of fertilizers and frozen fruit trade. The company plans to begin production of some other phosphorus products next year that are currently not made in Serbia, and make them competitive to those manufactured abroad.
