PM to IMF - New govt. to continue EU integration, reforms

"Serbia will safeguard political stability and continue to pursue the policy of peace, dialogue and regional cooperation, which is one of the most important conditions for economic growth," the prime minister said, according to a government statement.

Dačić "underlined that the goal of the government is to stabilize the economy, resume production and increase exports in order to ensure sustainable economic development, and to provide jobs for the largest possible number of workers and improve the standard of living."

The talks with the IMF started between technical experts in Belgrade on February 26, while the official talks kicked off with a plenary session at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) in which the Serbian delegation was headed by Serbian Minister of Finance Lazar Krstić.

The IMF delegation headed by Zuzana Murgasova will stay in Serbia until March 13 as announced earlier by the IMF Resident Representative Office in Serbia.
