The bonus for the retired will neither jeopardize capital projects nor will it adversely affect inflation in the country, Deputy PM Jovan Krkobabic claims. "The bonus cannot instigate inflation nor affect the prices. These are minimum funds intended for spending", he said. "Pensions won't affect prices" Krkobabic told pensioners that there are “no more dilemmas and discussions regarding the bonus, all is agreed and they can calmly wait for the pay day.” He pointed out he was very pleased that after long talks with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, as well as discussions within the Government of Serbia, the pensioners will get one-time bonus in the amount of RSD 5,000, equal to what the employed in the public sector will receive. "I found great pleasure in instructing the The Pension and Disabilitiy Insurance Fund (PIO) to prepare a method for paying out the one-time bonus”, Krkobabic said.
