Srbijagas CEO: Gas prices should increase

Srbijagas General Director Dusan Bajatovic said that gas prices in Serbia are expected to increase soon. He said that even though the gas prices in dollars will not change much by the end of the year, there should be an increase in prices in Serbia. Srbijagas CEO: Gas prices should increase Bajatovic explained that it is important to increase the price Serbian consumers are paying for gas because of the decrease of the value of the domestic currency. Srbijagas is expected to submit a proposal for a new model of calculating the gas price to the government on Monday, which has already been confirmed by the Energy Agency. Bajatovic said that the construction of the South Stream pipeline through Serbia has been confirmed with Russian Gazprom. After meeting with Gazprom senior officials in Russia, Bajatovic said that there have been no changes in the planned route or capacity of the pipeline, which is expected to be completed by December 2015.
