According to the announcements, the EIB will also fund a project on solid waste disposal in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry for the National Investment Plan, with Serbian municipalities being the beneficiaries of this project. The EIB is also considering a way to help Serbia attract direct foreign investments through constructing adequate infrastructure and creating conditions for the arrival of foreign companies, EIB representatives stated. Serbia is the largest user of EIB credits in the Western Balkans since 2001, and the bank has invested some EUR 1.7bn in the country since 2005.
