A member of the prime minister's Economic Council says credit risk in Serbia is not higher than in other countries in the region. But Milojko Arsic said on Tuesday in Belgrade that Serbia's position is more unfavorable due to political factors. Credit risk "not higher than in region" Serbia's rating is lower than that of, for instance, Bulgaria and Romania, due to political rather than economic factors, he said referring to the latest Dun and Bradstreet report which lists Serbia among high risk countries with a DB5 rating. State authorities are aware of the problems regarding the high foreign debt, which might reach 80 percent of GDP at the end of next year, he said. The risk of a sudden change in the dinar exchange rate is much lower since Serbia concluded the agreement with IMF, he said.
