Automobile Industry Turin experts have redesigned Zastava's light truck model ZK, reports say. They have also ordered the prototype and the first shipment of some 50 vehicles or the Italian market. Zastava Trucks soon in Turin Work on the prototype, dubbed ZK R1, has already been finished at the Kragujevac-based plant. By the end of September, the Italian company will receive ten of these redesigned trucks. The total value of the project is estimated to be at around EUR 500,000. The four-wheel-drive ZK R1 can be custom made to serve various purposes. "The vehicle has payload of between 3.5 and 4.5 tons, it’s made with Fiat’s aggregates, while other parts are produced in cooperation of Zastava Trucks and the company that ordered the project,” Milorad Djorovic, one of Zastava's directors, explained. Zastava Trucks participated n the production with just over 30 percent, while the rest is provided by the Italian partner.
