The state will negotiate the sale of Industry of Machinery and Tractors (IMT) with the company that made the second-best offer in the tender. The company, led by Goran Novakovic, who is a former minister in the Djindjic cabinet, offered EUR 109.3mn to buy Serbia's leading tractor manufacturer, with an additional EUR 13mn in investments, and unconditional acceptance of the so-called social program. IMT owns production and business facilities located on 35 hectares of land.

Previously, the tender winners HASS-SIP consortium dropped out of the deal, citing banks' unwillingness to finance the acquisition.

IMT owns production and business facilities located on 35 hectares of land.
