Outgoing Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic says he has prepared a written proposal on the issue of Kosovo's debt. It will be submitted to the government in order to open talks with creditors on the termination of the payment of the Kosovo debt, he said, but added he will send the proposal "after the parliamentary elections, provided the new government is a pro-European one". The issue of whether Serbia should stop paying the Kosovo part of its foreign debt was raised by Dinkic in the media immediately before the collapse of the ruling coalition. Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) accused him of wishing to "indirectly recognize" Kosovo's unilateral independence with the move, citing the fact the idea was first voiced by EULEX chief in the province, Pieter Feith, as proof for its claim.
