A common characteristic of the dishes we ordered was the mild taste of ingredients: from the dough, cheese and vegetables to fresh olives, resulting in a handsome portion of Greek salad which we consumed with ease, even before the main courses were served. The small triangular piroshkies were rich in ham and neutral cream, rather flat and with slightly over-baked dough, while the cetverac pizza lacked salt in the crust, but this was compensated with strong and tasty smoked meat and grilled peppers on top, with a thick homemade tomato sauce seasoned with basil and oregano, served on the side. From the front page of the menu, we chose white chicken meat in a very mild (again) peanuts sauce, accompanied with French fries of average quality (we cannot but object to the dryness of the insufficiently seasoned chicken breasts which were hard to swallow in spite of the heavy sauce in which they were immersed). At the end, we had chilled profiterole made of fine chocolate, filling a glass serving dish to the rim, the only dessert besides Cheesecake that also found its place on the menu. We would like to point out that Ze & Z has a fantastic garden in a newly renovated promenade, with the specific smells of the Danube, overlooking the nearby churches, green market and freshly painted facades of the surrounding houses, resembling a Central European capitol. Meal for two, without wine, costs 2,000 dinars. This newly opened pizzeria is located in the handsomest part of Magistarski square in Zemun. Thanks to the rustic interior, dimmed lights and dark brown leather chairs, this pizzeria has the ambiance of a lounge with the affordable prices, as least for the time being.
