France changed the flag - no one noticed
President Emmanuel Macron made the decision to change the color of the French flag.According to Europe 1, this is a detail that few have seen, and yet it is very important.
France still has the same colors, blue-white-red, but blue has not been exactly the same in the Élysée Palace for a year. It is now dark blue and is found on all the buildings attached to the palace.
The decision made by President Macron in July 2020 provoked internal debates in the Élysée Palace.
According to Europe 1, Macron wanted to return the dark blue color on the flag, the symbol of the French Revolution, and that French media also emphasizes the influence of Admiral Bernard Rogel, since the French Navy already uses dark blue on ships.
One of the reasons, as it is stated, is of an aesthetic nature.
The French navy and many buildings across the country have always used a dark blue shade. But in 1976, under President Giscard d'Estaing, France introduced a lighter blue on the tricolor to match the blue on the European flag.
However, as it is stated, all those interested insist that the change of color should not be interpreted as a gesture against the EU.
