Doctors will no longer permanently lose their licenses

The possibility of permanently revoking a doctor's license has been deleted from Serbia's legislation.

Instead, doctors' license will be revoked only for the the duration of their criminal records.

For example, if a doctor commits a crime and is sentenced to a year in prison, their name will be removed from criminal records five years later, at which time they will get their medical license back and be able to go back to work.

Doctor's Association of Serbian Director Milan Dinic said that permanent revoking of licenses was unjust, because each citizens has a right to rehabilitation.
