It was about funds to improve the gas project.

Pointing out that the use of coal is harmful, Grenell criticized the government of Albin Kurti for refusing American money for the gas project, which he said would be cheaper.

"In Kosovo, there is a need to get coal out of use. It is harmful. What we have seen from the current government is the rejection of U.S. money for gas, and that would be cheaper and healthier for the people of Kosovo. I would like the American embassy to be clearer about that. They missed the opportunity to be straightforward," Grenell said.

He also said that Biden's administration should be more aggressive in the Balkans.

"The idea of the U.S. waiting for Brussels is frustrating. We want to see more action in terms of dialogue. The Biden administration needs to be more aggressive. They should be more active in the Balkans by appointing a special envoy. I have not seen Joseph Biden talk about economic normalization between Kosovo and Serbia" , Grenell concluded.
