Serbia's customs officers prevented two Afghans and three Iranians from illegally crossing the state border between Serbia and Macedonia at Presevo. The illegal immigrants were found early on Wednesday hiding in a truck carrying goods from Greece to Western Europe, the Customs Administration announced. Illegals found hidden among barrels of fruit The five persons were found in cooperation with the border police during a detailed control of the load in the truck which contained barrels with preserved fruit. The detailed customs control of the vehicle was decided after the driver reported that the seal on the truck had been broken and then resealed. As the seal was placed by Macedonian customs, it is assumed that the stowaways entered the truck while it was parked in a parking lot near the Presevo crossing. All five illegal immigrants were handed to the police for further proceedings. During the past two months, a total of 111 persons were prevented in attempts to illegally cross the state border.
