Osam Tamburasa Address: Petrovaradin Fortress, Novi Sad Working hours of the restaurant and kitchen: from 8 a.m. too midnight Credit cards: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro Garden or terrace: yes Parking: Public, in front of the Vojvodina Museum Vegetarian menu: yes Menu: in Serbian and English Staff speak: English Cuisine: International Main courses: from 450 to 900 dinars Available for hire: yes, upon agreement Under colonnades reminiscent of the Czar’s era, a not very spacious hall is tucked in with its thirty or so tables, tastefully, somewhat rustically furnished. The best part of this restaurant is the beautiful terrace providing an unforgettable view of Fruska Gora and Novi Sad. We started with a very good veal ragu and mushrooms pottage which deserved our praise for its creaminess and moderate seasoning. The "bridge" between this and the main course were tasteful breaded peppers with cheese and sesame. After that, we decided to taste the turkey with mlinci but this was not what we expected — the meat fillets were tender, but did not blend well with the pasta. The Marija Terezija salad brought a real surprise: white bun with pieces of grilled chicken and pork meat, with lots of lettuce and grilled vegetables, looked more like a sandwich than the main course. The wine list is standard, as is the choice of desserts. The service — very slow and un-agitated but. Unfortunately, from this once very popular restaurant, the only thing worth mentioning is the view and the memory of the famous string-players. Meal for two, without drinks, costs 2,100 dinars. Osam Tamburasa is located in the shade of Sahat-kula (clock tower) at the Petrovaradin Fortress, where the most beautiful associations with Novi Sad are found — a view of the Danube and memories of Janika Balas’s music.
