According to SNS Vice President Nebojsa Stefanovic, Antic handed his resignation to party leader Aleksandar Vucic. Presidential adviser leaves ruling SNS Stefanovic told reporters after a meeting of the presidency late on Wednesday that the session did not see "much debate" about this, and that the resignation was accepted. Oliver Antic serves as an adviser to President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic. Radomir Nikolic, a high-ranking SNS official, announced yesterday that the party would withdraw from local governments in ten municipalities, and that the mayors of Uzice and Kraljevo would be replaced. The sacking of "100 SNS officials" has also been proposed, according to reports. The names of directors of public companies to be replaced are not yet known, because the SNS will "first send the proposal to the government." The presidency of the SNS did not reach a consensus last night on calling early parliamentary elections, said Stefanovic. "There are different views that we will harmonize in the future," he said. This party official, who serves as Serbia's parliament speaker, said that the final decision to call early parliamentary elections was expected at the next sessions of the presidency to be held at the beginning of next year. He also revealed that Aleksandar Vucic is the only candidate for SNS president in the party election scheduled for January 25. According to Stefanovic, Vucic now has the support of 128 out of 183 local SNS committees. Earlier this month, SNS presidency member and MP Vladimir Cvijan announced that he would be the rival of Aleksandar Vucic. Oliver Antic (Tanjug, file) B92 Beta Tanjug
