Around 9,000 people gathered on Friday in Ljubljana for a rally in support of Slovenian PM Janez Janša.

LJUBLJANA Around 9,000 people gathered on Friday in Ljubljana for a rally in support of Slovenian PM Janez Jansa. The rally started around 11:00 CET and no incidents have been reported so far. Thousands in Slovenia rally in support of prime minister Jansa’s message, that he sent from Brussels, was read to the participants at the beginning of the rally. Aside from Interior Minister Vinko Gorenak and other high-ranking officials of Jansa’s Slovenian Democratic Party, his wife Urska Bacovnik Jansa is also among the participants of the rally. The protesters carry banners that among other things say “We cannot live without Jansa” and flags of the EU and Slovenia. A protest against the government is scheduled to begin at 15:00 CET at the same place. Slovenian artists on Thursday night held a protest in support of the citizens that will demonstrate against the government.
