BELGRADE The idea that Serbia is not in a hurry to join the EU, which government officials stated in recently, is the most irresponsible view by the current government. This was heard on Wednesday from the leader of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party Cedomir Jovanovic, who also asked the Serbian parliament to distance itself from such statements. "Irresponsible statements about EU integration" "Europe is the answer to everything, and I ask the parliament to reject in a very clear way all the views stated in recent days," Jovanovic told a news conference at the parliament and announced that his party would start a campaign entitled "Serbia is in a hurry" and propose a declaration under the same name in the parliament. "Serbia has no president, nor government, because things Nikolic, Dacic, Dinkic and Vucic have done in the past few days portray them as people who pose the greatest obstacle to changes, which are necessary to ensure normal life. The idea that Serbia is not in a hurry is the most irresponsible view that we have heard since this government coalition was formed," Jovanovic noted. "Maybe Nikolic is not in a rush to get to Bajcetina, but all those who wish to turn Serbia into a decent place to live in after losing 20 years are in more than a hurry," Jovanovic remarked. "How can the president of the unhappiest country say that nation is in no hurry to be free of that unhappiness," he wondered. Serbia, according to Jovanovic, is hostage to incompetent leaders who are incapable of running a dynamic political agenda and finding quick and efficient solutions, so they come up with an alibi that says Serbia is in no rush to get anywhere. Commenting on price hikes, he pointed out that the market does not tolerate myths and nonsense, adding that the people, who besides the shortages had to relive what they had already endured under Milosevic, were now left to foot the bill.
