Deputy leader of the opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic says that on May 6, Serbia will choose between the past and the future. In the Easter edition of the Belgrade-based daily Danas, Vucic explained that the past he is referring to covers the period of the past four years of the rule of Democrats and Socialists. "Serbia choosing between past and future" It left the country poor, hundreds of thousands individuals were fired and even more were left jobless, the government apparatus was oversized and bureaucracy ran wild, he told the newspaper. "We want an opportunity for Serbia which can and needs to act better, faster and in a different manner," Vucic said commenting on the claims by deputy leader of the Democratic Party (DS) and Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac that "everyone who wants a future, job and security can win this only through the DS policy and Boris Tadic". Vucic, however, believes that "everybody wants changes and for the SNS to show that the Democrats can be deposed". When asked about the justifiability of the claims by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, who said that SNS could lead the country to a war, Vucic replied that the statement was nonsense aimed at intimidating the citizens.
