Belgrade is prepared for a constructive dialogue with Pristina but will not cross red lines that would mean recognizing the independence of Kosovo and Metohija. This was heard from Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, who spoke for the AP in Vienna on Monday. FM on constructive Kosovo dialogue, red lines Jeremic took part in a special session of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Permanent Council. He stated that the arrest of Hague indictee Ratko Mladic and the progress in the talks with the Kosovo Albanian authorities were "signs of Serbia's commitment to stability in the Balkans rather than the pressure exerted by the European Union". He said progress in the talks had come when Pristina negotiators "moderated their demands". Asked if Serbia had felt pressured by Brussels to overcome a standstill over Kosovo, the minister replied that Serbia did not take its cues from the European Union when it came to the Kosovo issue, but that it was moved by its own determination to resolve certain issues related to stabilization in the Balkans. "We will not accept the pressure, but rather continue to be constructive provided the process is fair and balanced," Jeremic said. Vuk Jeremic (Beta/AP, file)
