Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac expressed his expectation on Thursday that Serbia will sign a defense agreement with the EU by the end of the year. It would create conditions for the participation of the Serbian Army and police in the EU peacekeeping missions, he said. Serbia looks to defense deal with EU Sutanovac pointed out that Serbia's defense system wants to participate in the EU peacekeeping missions, adding that negotiations on the country's symbolic presence in the anti-piracy mission on the Somalian coast are currently underway. In his lecture at the Military Academy in Belgrade, Sutanovac said that this will be the first EU mission in which the members of the Serbian Army will take part. (Tanjug)
