A street nameplate carrying the name of assassinated journalist Slavko Curuvija was unveiled in Dedinje, Belgrade, on Tuesday. On the initiative of the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS), the Belgrade City Council made a decision on September 22 to name the second part of the Baja Pivljanin Street after Slavko Curuvija. Street named after slain journalist Curuvija was killed on April 11, 1999 in front of his apartment, and the perpetrators have not been identified to this day. The ceremony was attended by Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas, UNS President Ljiljana Smajlovic, Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) President Vukasin Obradovic, members of the Curuvija family and President of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) Vuk Draskovic. Ćuruvija was killed on April 11, 1999 in front of his apartment, and the perpetrators have not been identified to this day.

The ceremony was attended by Belgrade Mayor Dragan Đilas, UNS President Ljiljana Smajlović, Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) President Vukašin Obradović, members of the Ćuruvija family and President of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) Vuk Drašković.
