The Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Affairs approved the draft law on Wednesday for the new Vojvodina statute and its accompanying bills. The Serbian parliament will begin debates of the drafts on November 24. Committee approves statute draft Parliamentary Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic told journalists after the committee meeting that the acts in question confirm that Vojvodina "has the right to a maximum form of autonomy, not statehood". Committee members from ruling coalition parties and the opposition Liberal Democratic Party voted in favor of approving the drafts, while those from the opposition expressed dissenting opinion.
