Cvetković on visit to Finland

The government is fully committed to EU integration and is meeting all obligations on that path, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said in Helsinki today. “In that context, Finland’s support is very important to us, in terms of getting Serbia on to the Schengen white list, as well as its backing for unfreezing of the Interim Trade Agreement,” said Cvetkovic, after meeting with Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. Cvetkovic on visit to Finland He said that the two countries’ position were at odds over Kosovo’s unilateral independence. “I took the opportunity to reiterate to Prime Minister Vanhanen that Serbia will never renounce its sovereignty or territorial integrity, and that it will fight with exclusively peaceful and diplomatic means, abiding by international law,“ Cvetkovic stressed. The minister added that Serbia was open for cooperation with Finland in the field of ICTs and telecommunications, energy, environmental protection, forestry and the wood processing industry, metallurgy and infrastructure. The prime minister is also due to pay a visit to mobile giant Nokia, where he will meet with the company management to discuss strengthening and broadening cooperation with Serbia. Cvetkovic will be accompanied by Trade and Services Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic, Telecommunications Minister Jasna Matic and European Integration Office Director Milica Delevic, who will all hold separate meeting with their respective Finnish counterparts.
