"Finland is a very decent nation. That's why I cant understand they recognize ILLEGAL Kosovo independence!

1244 is still valid!

Ron,

I agree that Finland, like most Scandinavian countries, is a fairly low-profile countries. They brought us Nokia and also produce good wodka. However, Martti Ahtisaari is Finnish and on the KLA payroll. In addition, Finland was a Nazi ally and a fairly homogeneous (around 98%) which is why they feel some bond with the Albanians in Kosovo, who only constitute 20% of the Serbian population, a clear minority. It is kind of ironic though that UN 1244 is also based on the Helsinki Final Act and that Finland has decided to ignore this important piece of International Law.

All "decent" nations have recognized Kosova. There is nothing illegal about K-Independence. K-Independence is in full compliance with 1244 for the status of Kosova ( why don't you read the entire resolution for once) K-Constitution replaces 1244 at this point and all "decent" nations agree with this, including the country where you live.
Just in case you start with other separatist movements, here is an excellent response from Johny (#34), previously posted in this forum.
