After a meeting with the speaker today, SPS leader Ivica Dacic said that the first parliament session on Wednesday will not have a majority to elect a new government. According to news agency reports, Dacic added that for this reason the session will be delayed before new speaker and deputies are appointed. Dacic: No majority on Wednesday The leader of the Socialists said his pre-election coalition with the Associated Pensioners Party (PUPS) and United Serbia (JS) will meet tomorrow in order to harmonize their next moves in ongoing talks to form the next cabinet. He told reporters that this coalition will remain united, and added there was "no price that could be paid to break up this unity". The Socialists are currently officially involved in talks with the SRS-DSS, and Dacic revealed that the contentious issues in those discussions include the implementation of the social and economic program regarding the status of pensioners, and the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA). Unless the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition manages to agree on how to proceed on these two points, the Radicals (SRS) and PM Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will be notified about this, Dacic explained. Afterwards, he added, the party organs will decide on the next steps. Earlier int the day, outgoing Speaker Oliver Dulic, DS, held consultations with representatives of the parties with seats in the new parliament. The consultations have determined the details related to the first parliament session. Members of the Serb Radical Party (SRS) were not present at the meeting today. The meeting today was attended by Nada Kolundzija, Suzana Grubjesic, Miloljub Albijanic and Aleksandra Jerkov of the DS-led coalition, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) official Milos Aligrudic, the Socialist Party of Serbia’s (SPS) and the Associated Pensioners Party (PUPS) leaders Ivica Dacic and Jovan Krkobabic, Cedomir Jovanovic from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), representative of the Hungarian Coalition Pastor Balint and the Bosniak List official, Bajro Omerovic.
