The Zemun Clan trial is expected to end today with Milorad Ulemek, a.k.a. Legija, scheduled to give his closing statement. As the trial for the 29 members of the Zemun Clan wraps up, Ulemek asked two days ago to address the judges. The members of the Zemun Clan are accused of 15 murders, three kidnappings and terrorist attacks on the Defense Road company and the Democratic Party of Serbia’s Belgrade headquarters. The gang’s leaders and members have already received first instance convictions for Djindjic’s murder, while Ulemek has received a 40-year sentence for the murder of former President Ivan Stambolic, as well as the attempted murder of Serbian Renewal Movement leader Vuk Draskovic.
