Croatian filmmaker wins Belgrade festival's top award

The 45th International Film Festival FEST closed at Belgrade's Sava Center late on Sunday, Tanjug is reporting.

The festival ended with an award ceremony and screenings of Martin Scorsese's Silence and Luka Bursac's Afterparty .

The Belgrade Victor for Best Film went to Quit Staring at My Plate by Croatian director Hana Jusic, The Student by Kirill Serebrennikov (Russia) won the Best Director award, while Suntan by Greek director Argyris Papadimitropoulos won the Best Script award.

The Jury's Award went to Heartstone, directed by Gudmundur Arnar Gudmundsson (Denmark/Iceland).
