BELGRADE An exhibition in Belgrade last weekend marked the beginning of B92 Fund's latest humanitarian campaign, "Movement 65+" The exhibition, entitled "Old People are not Things," featured unusual "exhibits" - people. Placed inside picture frames, the elderly who took part in the event told their life stories to the visitors, pointing out that they were not "things," despite the manner in which the society often sees them. B92 Fund kicks off new campaign to assist elderly This concept was the results of the support of the Fund's partner Leo Burnett, which worked on the campaign. The agency's creative director, Anja Radulovic, commented on the event: "We wished to point out to the fact that every person is a work of art, and to encourage visitors to in this way approach the elderly that surround them in everyday life, to discover their huge life experiences and some forgotten skills, as well as their precious inner richness. Only from the standpoint of deep respect, and they certainly deserve it, can we truly help the elderly solve their problems." The campaign has met with the strong support from the state and the NGO sector. Labor Ministry official Brankica Jankovic addressed those gathered over the weekend to say: "We all know what the B92 Fund achieved in the Battle for the Babies, and I am convinced that the 65+ Movement will be equally important for our society. The Republic of Serbia, and especially our ministry, will wholeheartedly support this campaign, and I hope that together we will manage to improve the position of elderly persons in our country." President of the managing board of the Amity association Nadezda Sataric also attended, to say that this organization found it "very important that the B92 Fund had recognized the problems of the elderly in Serbia," and add: "It is even more important that this campaign is being launched with some concrete ideas about how the problems may be solved." The first part of the project will raise funds to provide help in their homes to those elderly citizens who need it, and provide them with food, heating, and the most necessary medical materials. All those who wish to support the campaign can do so by sending a text message to 1651, in this way donating RSD 100.
