SKOPJE The leader of the Social Democratic Union Branko Crvenkovski announced that MPs of opposition parties will no longer participate in the work of the assembly. "We will organize and support any form of civil resistance and disobedience, rallies, protests, street blockades," the former Macedonian PM and president announced at a press conference on Tuesday. Macedonian opposition leaves parliament Crvenkovski added that, starting tonight through Friday, half-hour blockades of key roads in all towns in Macedonia would be organized, while on Saturday, a protest would be held in front of the headquarters of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party in Skopje. Crvenkovski said that he would not participate in the local elections called for March, nor in the possible early parliamentary elections, until he had received assurances that the voting would be "fair and democratic". Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov condemned yesterday's incidents in front of the Macedonian assembly, when supporters of the opposition and the ruling party clashed over disagreements over the country's budget for 2013. The Macedonian Ministry of the Interior today announced that 11 policemen and six opposition MPs were injured. The Macedonian parliament late on Tuesday passed the budget bill after a stormy session attended only by MPs of the ruling majority, as the opposition and journalists were expelled from the hall. Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said on Monday that his country saw its "first attempt at a violent overthrow of democratic institutions", and the legitimately elected government, and that his government was "ready for any scenario to protect the interests of the citizens". Macedonian opposition leaves parliament

Crvenkovski added that, starting tonight through Friday, half-hour blockades of key roads in all towns in Macedonia would be organized, while on Saturday, a protest would be held in front of the headquarters of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party in Skopje.

Crvenkovski said that he would not participate in the local elections called for March, nor in the possible early parliamentary elections, until he had received assurances that the voting would be "fair and democratic".

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov condemned yesterday's incidents in front of the Macedonian assembly, when supporters of the opposition and the ruling party clashed over disagreements over the country's budget for 2013.
