The U.S. ambassador to Montenegro says he expect regional states to recognize Kosovo. Roderick Moore told Montenegro's state television RTCG that "the United States and its partners expect the regional countries to recognize Kosovo and establish normal relations with the new neighbor". "U.S. expects new recognitions" "The fact that there are countries in the region that have not established normal relations with Kosovo is detrimental to the regional stability and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the regional countries," the U.S. diplomat said according to Beta news agency. Moore also commented on the decision yesterday to once again lock up ten ethnic Albanians found guilty of organizing an armed rebellion in Montenegro, three of whom carry U.S. passports. He said his country favors "a quicker solution of this process, including the appeals lodged". Moore said the U.S. embassy in Podgorica asked the authorities for more information regarding the decision to jail the men, found guilty but previously released from custody. "This case has attracted enormous interest of the U.S. government and congress and I have spoken about this several days ago with an influential senator," he was quoted. The ethnic Albanians were found guilty and sentenced to jail time for joining a criminal enterprise to conduct anti-constitutional activities in Montenegro.
